À propos de l'événement
The 17th EISA Pan-European Conference on International Relations (PEC) will be held from August 27-31, 2024, at Université Catholique de Lille in France. This event marks the first time PEC will take place in France, welcoming around 1,300 international relations scholars, including many from the French academic community. The conference will feature a variety of thematic sections, high-profile plenary sessions, Early Career Workshops, social events, and professional development activities.
The theme "Searching for International Relations: Spaces, Styles, Struggles" EISA PEC 2024 challenges traditional views of "the international" as merely the realm of state interactions. It invites participants to explore where "the international" truly takes place, raising important questions about the spaces and contexts in which international relations unfold. This spatial inquiry brings with it significant epistemological and methodological questions, such as what counts as knowledge about the international and how this knowledge is produced.
Professor Stéphanie Perazzone will be participating in a roundtable that explores the concept of "research anarchism." The discussion will challenge the conventional disciplining of knowledge production in the social sciences, advocating for a more undisciplined, anarchic approach. This perspective encourages embracing the uncertainty and joy of research, aiming to foster a freer, more caring, and joyful academic environment.
